Before I Ever Met You

Lyrics

[Verse 1] Some people search for years and years Through lonely nights and quiet tears Then right before they walk away A voice comes through, a phone call stays Two strangers talking through the night Seven hours felt like it was right [Chorus] You were the answer to a prayer A steady hand when no one else was there Through every storm you speak the light You say it's gonna be alright And it always is, it always is A love like this is heaven's gift [Verse 2] He sang to me from sandy shores Hawaii's waves outside his door A thousand miles between our hearts But God was closing every part He said the Spirit led the way To find a woman built on faith Like Rebecca trusting heaven's call He waited for the one through it all [Chorus] You were the answer to a prayer A steady hand when no one else was there Through every storm you speak the light You say it's gonna be alright And it always is, it always is A love like this is heaven's gift [Bridge] I lost so much, I'd lost my way Had nothing left, nowhere to stay Then Valentine's Day, there you stood My kinsman redeemer, faithful and good [Verse 3] Mark, you bring such peace into our home You love my grandkids like your own A prayer warrior on his knees You move the mountains that I see Mark, you told me nothing in this world Could make you let go of this girl And I promised you with all I am No one will ever love you like I can [Chorus] You were the answer to a prayer A steady hand when no one else was there Through every storm you speak the light You say it's gonna be alright And it always is, it always is A love like this is heaven's gift [Outro] Happy birthday, Mark, my answered prayer Thank God He led me to you there It always is, it always is A love like this is heaven's gift
