The Amber Inn

Lyrics

[Verse 1] Slow songs on the radio Down a backroad, takin' it slow Some stories start in fancy places Mine began with quiet faces At the Amber Inn one night Somethin' told me this felt right [Chorus] It's faith, it's hope, it's love that stays Through every season, all our days A grateful heart, a steady hand The kind of love that understands I thank the Lord up in the blue He knew just what He's doing, sending you [Verse 2] First date dancin' to a song I knew right then I'd come along For every mile, for every mile Then Lily came and made us smile Addilynn followed, sweet and small You gave me everything, you gave me all [Chorus] It's faith, it's hope, it's love that stays Through every season, all our days A grateful heart, a steady hand The kind of love that understands I thank the Lord up in the blue He knew just what He's doing, sending you [Bridge] "Chicken butt," you'd make me laugh Silly love on a winding path Eric, your daddy Ron sees it too He'd be so proud of the man in you [Verse 3] You build your dreams with calloused hands Help a stranger, take a stand Through the good days and the gray You've loved me through it all the way Eric, hear me when I say You're a good father, every day [Chorus] It's faith, it's hope, it's love that stays Through every season, all our days A grateful heart, a steady hand The kind of love that understands Oh Eric, I thank the Lord up in the blue He knew just what He's doing, sending you [Outro] Wouldn't change a single thing You're the song my heart will sing
